Consider for backlinks
Domains listed in the consider for backlinks list are 'friends of friends' that should be considered as candidates to approach for backlinks. This means they have a links relationship with one or more principal referrer or shared referrer domains, as well as meeting other eligibility criteria.
To appear in the consider for backlinks list, a domain must meet these criteria:
- Have a distance of 2 from the principal domain
- Have an Eco spam max score below 31
- Not be in the ignore list
- Not be a competitor or disavowed domain
NOTE It is also possible for a domain to appear in this list because it appears in the whitelist.
For example, in the following illustration, domains A, B, C, D, E, and F all have a distance of 2 from the principal domain (which appears at the centre):
Some of these domains are ineligible:
- Domain B is disavowed
- Domain E is a competitor
- Domain F is in the ignore list
In the main visualisation of a report interactive, the 'Eco spam max' view re-colours the domains to indicate their Eco spam max scores. Dark grey indicates a zero score (the best), and then bands from yellow to red indicate progressively higher scores.
Domain C has an Eco spam max score in the 31-59 range, which immediately renders it ineligible for the consider for backlinks list. Although domain D has an Eco spam max score in the 1-15 range, that does not disqualify it. So, only domains A and D will appear in the consider for backlinks list.
